Johnny Wu is the head designer, pattern maker and creative director for Johnny’s Bridal. Johnny was born into the dressmaking craft in China and personally has over 40 years of experience in the garment industry. The Wu family's clothing business goes back 2 generations and has over 200 years of experience in garment crafting and manufacturing. The business grew in China from a family business to a major garment manufacturing company and then later expanded to other cities in China. Leadership of the business later fell on Johnny who started making garments at the early age of 5 and later has become a respected and well-known designer throughout China. After successful ventures in opening his first showroom and design studio from 1986 to 1989, Johnny decided to leave China to study the fashion industry and design abroad. Johnny decided on settling in New York City, the fashion capital of the United States. In the Big Apple Johnny was able to further his fashion education and expand the family’s business to an internationally known fashion brand known as Capital Design, Inc. Under the current leadership and direction of Johnny, Capital Design, Inc. has custom created and manufactured a variety of garments for individuals and companies throughout New York City and the United States. Capital Design, Inc., currently creates dresses for around 200 companies all over the country. More notably, Johnny has assisted in the creation of a special dress for Beyonce Knowles and in decoration creation for one of Oprah Winfrey’s 2005 parties. |
